Aliya Mood won a Pulitzer Prize as part of the Arizona Republic and USA Today Network’s reporting on Donald Trump’s proposed border wall. Mood lead the Republic’s design team, which produced nearly two full weeks’ worth of digital and print content, including a virtual reality piece. The package also won the 2017 Scripps Howard Award for Innovation and the 2017 Award of Excellence for combined digital and print category from the Society of News Design. In her time at IU, Mood was an Ernie Pyle Scholar and served as art director and design chief of the Indiana Daily Student. She now works as a freelance graphic designer and Pilates instructor in Phoenix, Arizona. (April 2018)
