Sheila Schroeder completed a 14-part web series titled, "Breaking the Turfgrass Ceiling" about an elite group of female turf professionals volunteering to help prepare Pine Needles golf course for the 2022 U.S. Women's Open. The series can be watched in its entirety on YouTube.

Working through her Project DU F.I.L.M. (film initiative linking mentors) initiative, she worked with three of her students to edit material shot during the week of the open by her and a recent alum from the University of Denver where she has taught for the last 25 years. Recognizing industrywide and cultural inequities, the goal of Project DU F.I.L.M. is to change the face of filmmaking both in front of and behind the camera by creating intentionally diverse stories and recruiting a variety of alumni and students to participate in making short films together. We place special emphasis on populating our cast and crews with people from traditionally underrepresented groups in an effort to level the playing field and provide meaningful career stepping stones.
