Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz won the Democratic primary for the Illinois 17th District state representative seat. Gong-Gershowitz will face Republican Peter Lee, who ran unopposed, in the 2018 general election in November. Gong-Gershowitz is the director of immigration law practice at Highwood Legal Aid Clinic in Highland Park, Illinois. She holds a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and an L.L.M. in international human rights law from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. (April 2018)
