Julie DiCaro won the Life Span "Fight for Justice Award" for her work in writing about sexual assault and domestic violence in sports in her book "Sidelined: Sports, Culture, and Being a Woman in America," released by Dutton in paperback in March 2022. DiCaro is a sports journalist and editor at Deadspin and former attorney. She received a Peabody Award, a 2017 Gracie Award for Women in Media and a Clio Sports Grand for the viral video #MoreThanMean created with ESPN’s Sarah Spain in 2016, as well as a 2019 Gracie Award for her work in Chicago sports talk radio.
