Eddith Dashiell was named director of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, becoming both the first woman and the first African American to hold the position. She joined the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism faculty in 1992, and has worked as associate director of undergraduate programs, the college’s associate dean for graduate programs and assistant dean for undergraduate programs, as the University’s assistant provost for multicultural graduate affairs in the office of graduate studies.
