Died July 15, 2021, at age 83. 

Polk worked as an investigative journalist in print and broadcast, winning a Pulitzer Prize in 1974 for his coverage of Watergate. 

He worked for the Associated Press, The Washington Star, NBC News and CNN.

In 1994, he was inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame, and in 2011, he received The Media School’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
