Robert Enstad died on Jan. 29, 2020, at the age of 81. He was a Chicago Tribune reporter and editor for 36 years, beginning as a neighborhood news reporter in July 1961 and retiring in 1998. At the Tribune, he covered criminal courts, worked as a rewrite man, briefly reported from the Tribune’s Washington, D.C., bureau, reported on the Chicago Seven Trial, and completed many investigative reporting projects. Outside of work, he was passionate about cars, and owned numerous sailboats, which he moored in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
