David Harrison died Jan. 3, 2022, at age 92.

Before attending IU to study journalism, Harrison was drafted as a professional baseball player by the Chicago Cubs. He served during the Korean War in the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps. After the war, he worked as a sports writer.

Eventually, Harrison changed career paths, becoming a personnel labor relations manager and future executive vice president of human resources.
