James Fulton died Sept. 19, 2020, in Pasadena, California. He was 90.

Fulton was a lifelong journalist. He served two years in the U.S. Army following graduation before continuing his career as a reporter, managing editor and editor.

He worked in the newspaper business for 33 years. He reported for the Marion Chronicle and the Muncie Evening Press. After moving to California, Fulton served as a city editor, a managing editor and an editor for the Pomona Progress Bulletin. Following the merger of the Pomona Progress Bulletin and the Daily Report of Ontario in 1990, he became the associate editor of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. 

He retired in 1995.
